freedom of sunlight
dancing upon the spring breeze
petals showing wear

I adore the simplicity, as well as the challenge of Haiku. The constraints focus my mind, seeking out the essence of the moment, feeling, notion, distilling it to brilliant singularity.

waking near the trees
sunlight moves across the clouds
flowers grace my path
a break in the rain
the quiet breeze rustles leaves
sunlight through the clouds
Took this photo in my backyard this evening once the rain stopped.
a day of sunlight
which we got to spend outdoors
tomorrow brings rain
watching flowers dance
as I rest in my hammock
sunlight glimmering
On Twitter there’s a daily “haiku challenge” by @Baffled (today’s word is “rest”). I try my best to do these every day. A lovely community has sprung up around them. For me, it’s one of the best parts of Twitter.
high cloud’s in motion
graceful against the blue sky
the best of feelings
walking through my town
spring’s glories slip past my eyes
flowers start to fade
walking through sunlight
these flowers watch my progress
and summer’s approach
It’s a few weeks yet until summer, though we’ve had days with a summer feel. A few more days of cool dampness, then summer-like weather starts again. Slowly, iteratively, we’ll approach summer. Spring petals will continue to fall.
between the rain squalls
I get to walk in the sun
flowers cheer me on
flowers in sunlight
with glorious abandon
bold before the rain
