I’ve decided to take part in today’s “Word Of The Day Challenge“, and the word is “King“. I, being me, opt for a haiku.
high above us all
king’s exercise their power
bird’s indifference

I adore the simplicity, as well as the challenge of Haiku. The constraints focus my mind, seeking out the essence of the moment, feeling, notion, distilling it to brilliant singularity.
I’ve decided to take part in today’s “Word Of The Day Challenge“, and the word is “King“. I, being me, opt for a haiku.
high above us all
king’s exercise their power
bird’s indifference
the glories of spring
flowers singing with boldness
swallows harmonize
the praying mantis
facing down murder hornets
an ominous name
though the rain has stopped
the ominous clouds stare down
birds oblivious
WITHIN THIS COLD RAIN
DROPLETS DIVING OFF FLOWERS
THE CROW LAUGHS WITH ME
walking this evening
getting to see such beauty
life in quarantine
joyful floral scents
moments of urban beauty soon,
war’s horrors rise
I wrote this haiku after seeing the post below. Such a lovely photo coming a breath before the horror of World War I.
the motion of spring
bold new life; cherry blossoms
slowly fall to earth
This bouquet of spring
A celebration of life
Sunlight through the trees
Can you believe that this is the last Monday in April? May first is Friday! I noticed that the cherry blossoms are already starting to be shed, the last trees now filled with blossoms. Spring now fully present, at least in Seattle.
I hope this finds you safe and well.
