Autumnal Leaves

this life giving rain
Autumn has arrived
Autumn has fully arrived in Seattle. Rain and mist dominate the day. For me, this is calming. This is beautiful.
early autumn rain
birds delight in fresh berries
slowly I sip tea
nature's graceful force always pushing us forwards through autumnal rains
Ah, a lovely, rainy near-autumn morning here in Seattle. Autumn is my favorite season, so this fills me with happiness. And I expect my brown lawn is rejoicing with the rain.
I created this with Canva. The image is not mine, but a complementary one in Canva. Motion in text is something I am exploring deeper. Yeah, this isn’t that terribly challenging, but I’m all for small steps.

Summer’s Walk
this vibrant blue sky
delightful Summertime warmth
autumn approaching
This is a tree I’ve walked by myriad times. Today, with a cloudless sky, I stood out on my walk. Though it’s still summer weather, the crispness of autumn makes its presence known. Soon…very soon, summer will retire. As much as I love summer autumn holds a dear place one my heart.
Macabre: A Haiku
Here is my contribution to today’s “Fandango’s One-Word Challenge“: macabre. Not the most poetic word, methinks, but I appreciate a challenge. As I’m looking forward to the approaching autumn, I feel alignment. At that intersection I came up with this:
autumn approaching I'm celebrating darkness some find that macabre
Today’s Haiku: Bursts of Color
footsteps on the path bursts of color reach my eye underneath the leaves
Saw these on my walk yesterday. They were striking, standing out solidly in the mass of green.
I finished up Summer quarter on my journey to finish my ATA in Web Development. I will write some about that soon. Six quarters complete and three quarters left. Now, what to do afterwards? So much opportunity, so many choices, thus, so many things to say “no” to. That’s my pain.
Grace of Summer

A haiku response to today’s Word of the Day Challenge
Today’s word is “overdue”. Not a very poetic word, is it?
