as I face the west
sunset’s grace on the mountains
the air turns colder

I took this photo on my walk this evening along Edmonds’ Marina Beach. Is one of my favorite places,  period. Some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen are looking out at the Olympic Mountains of Washington.

Oh,  and happy Pi Day, for those who celebrate.

Cell Pic Sunday, March 12, 2023

Fellow blogger, Fandango, posted this response to another blogger, John Steiner’s “Cell Pic Sunday” prompt. I love prompts, so thought I’d dive in.

Approaching Rain

I took this photo a few days ago along the Edmonds waterfront (about 20 miles north of Seattle). I’m walking away from this squall (rather quickly, I might add) in an attempt to avoid getting drenched. Which was successful, though it was shifting from sprinkles to a steady rain when I got back to my car.

I’ve spent the majority of my life in this area. I walked this exact stretch of beach with my grandparents ages ago. I know the winds, the weather, yet sometimes get caught off guard. I was able to read the change before I got hit, while still meeting my step goal. I’ll take that as a win.

Dusk In Edmonds

Dusk in Edmonds

such a graceful sight
as sun moves down the mountain
night’s beauty gathers

This is my contribution to the Fandango One Word Challenge for today: “such”. Not the easiest word to create from, I must say.

I took this photo a few days ago along the waterfront of Edmonds, WA, just a short drive from my house. It’s one of my favorite places.

Along the Water

Along the water: a haiku

along the water
under the sun, between trains
beside calm waters

I just finished up winter quarter, so I was able to spend the day as I wished. Today’s the projected last day of sun for a while, so I opted for a waterside walk today. Edmonds is one of my favorite places, so off I went.

A Walk Along The Waterfront

through fading sunlight

walk along the waterfront

filled with memories

Most of my life orbited the Edmonds waterfront, just north of Seattle. My grandparents lived here. So many memories of walking with my grandfather here, sometimes riding the ferry. He loved talking with everyone, hearing their stories. His gift of listening appreciated.
