as the summer fades
at the air somewhat cooler
boldest of flowers
Facing Forward, Pursuing Progress
as the summer fades
at the air somewhat cooler
boldest of flowers
deep within the woods a pond with lily pads dragonflies pass by
The above haiku is my response to today’s “Baffled Haiku Challenge“, a daily prompt posted on Twitter by the user Baffled. I try to contribute daily to this community. It’s a pretty awesome group of people.
Here is my contribution to today’s “Fandango’s One-Word Challenge“: macabre. Not the most poetic word, methinks, but I appreciate a challenge. As I’m looking forward to the approaching autumn, I feel alignment. At that intersection I came up with this:
autumn approaching I'm celebrating darkness some find that macabre
this sunlit cafe
motion of people living
strangers intersect
footsteps on the path bursts of color reach my eye underneath the leaves
Saw these on my walk yesterday. They were striking, standing out solidly in the mass of green.
I finished up Summer quarter on my journey to finish my ATA in Web Development. I will write some about that soon. Six quarters complete and three quarters left. Now, what to do afterwards? So much opportunity, so many choices, thus, so many things to say “no” to. That’s my pain.
The grace of summer Greeting me upon my walk Sunlight through the clouds
under summer clouds
hints of autumn rising up
gentle mists drift by
Fandango’s One-Word Challenge today features “lean”. So, here we go…
within the forest do I lean against the tree or it lean on me?
amidst the trees
breeze dancing with the leaves
sunlight reaches me
Today I’m contributing to the Word of the Day Challenge. Our word today, “figure”.
underneath the clouds the figure of a flower graces my vision
