Though not inspired
Only feeling weariness
Force myself to write
Another day ends
Dark blue sky fading to black
Rest’s demands winning
It’s been a king, busy day. Sleep’s call is winning with me. Time to wrap up the day and go up sleep.
Eyelids drooping down
My weariness at day’s end
Preparing for bed
Forcing wakefulness
I resist vigorously
Weariness grinds
I pull my dust together
And rise
Facing life’s cruelty
Weary of watching them crushed
Energy vanished
A strange night,
Again awake when I wish to be asleep.
Slumber ignores my humble call
Blindly ignoring both my needs and concerns.
This lack of weariness annoys.
This rationale mind knows,
Knows the exhaustion coming.
Tomorrow’s sunrise.
Dread stares into my eyes,
Unblinking.
